Growth strategy advisory

Find the constraint between attention and revenue, then prioritize the work that can change it.

What is growth strategy advisory?

Growth strategy advisory examines how a business attracts, converts and retains customers, then identifies where effort should go next. It connects marketing, sales and product decisions to a shared commercial objective.

I help teams distinguish a lack of demand from weak positioning, poor conversion, inconsistent follow-up or retention problems. The aim is a focused plan with explicit assumptions and accountable owners.

Start with the quality of the evidence

A dashboard can report conversions while the sales team receives no qualified enquiries. Before treating a metric as success, we need to know how it is defined and where the underlying action can be confirmed. A button click, a submitted form, a qualified opportunity and a sale are different events.

We review the path from source to business outcome: traffic, landing page, enquiry, response, qualification and sale. For subscription or product businesses, activation and retention may be more informative than initial acquisition.

The advisory scope

  1. Clarify the objective: define the customer outcome and commercial measure that matter now.
  2. Diagnose the journey: compare channel performance with actual enquiries, sales feedback and product behavior.
  3. Prioritize constraints: rank problems by likely impact, evidence strength, cost and dependencies.
  4. Design experiments: state the hypothesis, audience, change, measure and decision rule.
  5. Set a review cadence: decide who interprets the results and who owns the next action.

What you receive

The agreed output may include a growth diagnostic, metric definitions, a prioritized experiment backlog and a review plan. Each recommendation should connect to a constraint and state what result would cause the team to continue, revise or stop.

For example, if enquiries arrive but are not contacted promptly, more traffic may increase waste. The first test could improve response ownership and qualification. If the tracking is unreliable, the first task is to establish a trustworthy baseline. These are diagnostic examples, not claims about a particular client.

What to bring

Useful inputs include channel spending, CRM stage definitions, recent enquiry and sales records, landing pages, customer feedback and any retention data. Aggregated or redacted information is often enough for an initial discussion. Access and handling should be agreed before sharing customer-level records.

Advisory versus campaign management

My role is to help you choose priorities and evaluate the evidence. Daily campaign optimization, landing-page implementation and technical tracking work need a defined delivery scope. DEMA’s performance marketing service and conversion and measurement work cover that execution layer.

If the growth constraint lies in the offer or product itself, we can connect this work to product strategy or go-to-market advisory.
